Custom AI applications
Tailor-made software built around your process, not a rented tool you bend to fit.
We develop custom AI applications that fit your workflow exactly, on your infrastructure, owned by you. No standard tool, no dependence on external providers.
What makes a custom AI application different from an off-the-shelf tool?
A custom application maps your process, instead of forcing your process to fit a rented tool. It runs on your infrastructure, you own the code and the data, and there is no per-user licence that gets more expensive as you grow.
When is a custom application worth it over an off-the-shelf tool?
A custom application is worth it as soon as a process is central to your business and no ready-made tool maps it cleanly. Typical signs: you pay for several tools that only partly fit, your team maintains data twice, or an important task depends on a single person and their spreadsheet. For standard tasks like bookkeeping or newsletters, an off-the-shelf product still makes sense. But once your process logic is your competitive advantage, you do not want to force it into a rented tool.
Most companies still default to standard: according to the Mittelstand-Digital Zentrum Berlin, 89 percent use off-the-shelf software and only 11 percent build their own AI applications. Your advantage grows exactly where standard tools hit their ceiling.
What applications have we already built?
We build applications around concrete processes, rather than shipping generic features. Two examples from practice:
- Automatic delivery of digital products: every order is matched to the right file, delivered, and extended with an upsell, across three product lines without any manual sorting. View the case study
- Invoices that book themselves: drop an invoice into the folder, and the application handles the rest, from OCR extraction to structured filing. View the case study
How does a project run?
Every project follows three steps, so you get clarity on value and cost early:
- Potential analysis: we review your processes and data and show which application pays off first, before a line of code is written. More on the potential analysis
- Implementation at a fixed price: you get a binding offer for a clearly defined scope, self-hosted on your infrastructure.
- Operation and further development: on request, we take over hosting, maintenance, and further development as a fixed package. More on operation
Does the application run on our own infrastructure?
Yes. We deliver self-hosted, meaning on your servers or in your cloud. Your data stays in house, which makes GDPR-compliant use much easier than with a US SaaS.
What does a custom AI application cost?
We work at a fixed price. After a short potential analysis, you get a binding offer for a clearly defined scope, instead of endless recurring licence costs.
How long does implementation take?
That depends on scope, but we deliberately keep projects small. Instead of building one large solution over months, we first ship a clearly defined scope that delivers real value quickly, and build on it from there. We set the exact scope together after the potential analysis.
Who owns the code and data in the end?
You do. You own the code and your data, with no per-user licence and no lock-in. That keeps you independent: you can maintain the application yourself, hand it to your own team, or have another provider develop it further.
Why a solo consultant instead of an agency?
You work directly with the developer who builds your application, with no sales layer or project management in between. The fair question about a single person is continuity. The answer is built into how this works: because you own the code and data and everything is documented cleanly, your operation does not depend on me. You can continue or hand over the application at any time. For real depth, I rely on engineering experience from production software, not on six months of prompting.
