An online retailer ships to three countries and had been creating DHL labels by hand. We connected label creation directly to the DHL API.
The challenge
For every shipment, someone had to transfer the recipient details and create the shipping label manually in the DHL portal, separately for Germany, Austria and Switzerland. It cost time on every single order.
Our solution
An n8n workflow handles shipping:
- Authenticate to the DHL Parcel API via OAuth.
- Build the shipment with all recipient details from the order data.
- Create the shipment and generate a print-ready label.
- Dedicated inputs for DE, AT and CH drive country-specific shipping.
The result
Shipping labels are generated automatically, consistently across all three countries, with no one entering data by hand.
